The Debs is coming up and you’ve spent all your savings on the perfect Debs dress… but now it’s time to buy the shoes.
When buying shoes each Debutante utters the same line “they have to be really high, and comfortable” well I’m sorry girls but there is no such thing as skyscrapers that feel like clouds. You will have to either chose between the two or do what most girls do and wear the high heels (for 45 minutes)
Having planned hundreds of Debs and seeing thousands of Debutantes on their special night means that we know what to expect when it comes to the Debs. On that we decided to make a list of the shoes that you are guaranteed to see at the Debs..
WARNING: Some of this content may be found offensive (*cough* Kitten heels *cough*)
1. Kitten heels
Kitten heels are never ok. End of.
2. High heels
Most Debutantes initially plan on wearing 6inch heels to the Debs as their dresses are so long and they don’t want to look like they have just raided the dressing up box from when they were 6! However, the higher the heel the more pain you will be in on the night, and there is nothing worse than the look of agony on your face to ruin your Debs picture! It’s guaranteed that any girls who wear high high heels will have them off before the main course.
Wedges are the most popular form of footwear at the Debs for a number of reasons, they still give the height that Debutantes are looking for with their full length dress, but they also have the comfort which means you are more likely to last in them all night and be the ones on the dance floor chanting “one more tuuune”.
4. Flip flops
With most just back from their 6th year holiday, they are doing everything they can to relieve their memories of sun burnt shoulders and cheap clubs! And the easiest way to feel like they are back where they belong in Santa Ponsa is to wear flip flops… everywhere!! So don’t be surprised when people start whipping sandy flip flops out of their clutches or dates suit pocket.
5. No Shoes
This is the other most popular style of footwear worn at the debs. The girls who decide to wear their 6 inch heels, quickly regret their decision after a few drinks and end up leaving them on top of their plate along with their clutch and their iphone. #watchoutforladsstandingonyourtoes
6. Black leather shoes
Ok, so these are going to be on every lad at the Debs. Some of them may have a hint of patent or a printed design around the laces but either way to both girls and guys.. they all look the same!
Good luck with the shoe shopping guys, but lets be honest you don’t need the luck, you love any excuse to shop!
